This blog was originally used to describe my travel experiences way back when. I had an amazing 3+ years of almost constant travel (December 2016 to Covid-19). And even in the time since my travel pace slowed due to the pandemic, a waning enthusiasm for that living-out-of-a-duffle-bag lifestyle, and the need for an income, I’ve still manage to do a lot of traveling to some cool spots and meet some amazing people.
But now I’m looking forward to taking an extended break from the world of travel and chasing after disasters. I’m desperate for some stability in my life following a stressful year that saw one of the craziest/stupidest job situations I’ve ever witnessed, serious family health issues, and most recently a health crisis of my own. As a result, I’m settling back in Durham into a new apartment and am already scheduling job interviews.
Recent events have had me examining my life and noting small but meaningful changes that I’d like to make in the coming year. Among those are better filling my downtime and to start journaling, meaning that reviving this dormant blog was an obvious choice.
But it can no longer be a travel blog, right? Instead, I envision posting about whatever is on my mind, meaning one can expect some random themes, including a good deal of really weird sh*t! Absurd jokes, album and book reviews, comments on life, reminiscences, dad jokes, etc.
As Scott Miller often asks, Are you with me??
Welcome back! I hope you find whatever it is you seek for, and that you’ll be able to use all that real-life material here on this blog. Wishing you a fun time this time around!
